Big Boys FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tigran Kazaryan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 4th match minute, Shoeburyness City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vince Duckworth to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, Big Boys FC's Philip Frost threw himself towards the right post 11 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jean Juteau, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 12 minutes had been played when some careless play by Shoeburyness City's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ross Bakewell was slow to take the kick. During this time Big Boys FC's players had a chance to rest. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Tigran Kazaryan put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Philip Frost. In the 19th minute Joe Gower shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximino Aguirre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tigran Kazaryan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Philip Frost made a huge save. Tigran Kazaryan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Philip Frost tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 29 minutes of play, Shoeburyness City's Vince Duckworth made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maximino Aguirre was left in no man's land by his defense there! Shoeburyness City's Philip Frost proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Shoeburyness City from getting a goal against them. Philip Frost made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Tigran Kazaryan sent off a good shot on target. Philip Frost made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tigran Kazaryan in the 42nd minute. Wen Peng was extremely unlucky when he, in the 43rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Ross Bakewell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 47th match minute, Shoeburyness City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joe Gower to maneuver through the defense. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Philip Frost took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wen Peng, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th minute, Vince Duckworth got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Philip Frost showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tigran Kazaryan in the 60th minute of the match. Mick Shipperley kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ross Bakewell in the 64th minute of play forced Shoeburyness City's goalkeeper Philip Frost to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th minute, Wen Peng made a precise shot to the right of Philip Frost. Shoeburyness City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Big Boys FC's Kyle Cotton was substituted for Ross Bakewell. Shoeburyness City's Vince Duckworth suffered a sore foot after 72 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Shoeburyness City made a substitution. Rick Ingham replaced Vince Duckworth. In the 74th match minute, Big Boys FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yanniek Van Beringen to maneuver through the defense. Philip Frost made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wen Peng in the 77th minute of play. With a little luck, Big Boys FC's Maximino Aguirre got control of the ball when Micheal Greenwood tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 82nd minute of the match, Micheal Greenwood got a very nice opportunity to score, but Maximino Aguirre was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 90th minute, Kyle Cotton had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. 90 minutes into the game, Mick Shipperley was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Shoeburyness City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Big Boys FC the free kick. The supporters of Big Boys FC booed when Shoeburyness City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mick Shipperley didn't get a good kick on the ball. Big Boys FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
