Thanks to some nice moves Silvester Knight could shoot a difficult shot in the 14th minute, which Philip Frost however easily saved by the left post. Joe Gower sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 21 minutes into the match, ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ's goal looked a bit too open when Vince Duckworth came free, but Cody York reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Shoeburyness City supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Shoeburyness City would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
