Harvey Simms might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cody York. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Harvey Simms ran back to his position shaking his head. 7 minutes into the game, Ivan Turner cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Dean Cookson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cody York made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Calvin Hyde sent off a good shot on target. Sol Gallacher in the 13thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Cody York, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ollie Davey in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dean Cookson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 23 minutes, Oliver Harding mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ and the Newcastle-upon-Tyne City players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Newcastle-upon-Tyne City booed when ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oliver Harding didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th play minute Sol Gallacher came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Cody York. 1-1. ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ's Cody York proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ from getting a goal against them. Harvey Simms blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cody York having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ollie Davey in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dean Cookson saved Newcastle-upon-Tyne City from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Daniel Saunders kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cody York. That made the score 2-1 in the 39 minute of play. When Ollie Davey came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ollie Davey couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sol Gallacher stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Sol Gallacher ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cody York was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. The supporters of ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ booed when Newcastle-upon-Tyne City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Saunders didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Newcastle-upon-Tyne City's zone, Ivan Turner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sol Gallacher in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cody York prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sol Gallacher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cody York took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Saunders, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Newcastle-upon-Tyne City had won after a very even match.
