In the 11th minute, Stelios Kapagiannidis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MARATHON FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. With his leg Charilaos Leonardos managed to avoid a goal in the 13thth minute, when Ampelón BC's Alekos Papaevaggelou fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stelios Kapagiannidis in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Giannis Kasnakidis saved Ampelón BC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alekos Papaevaggelou in the 23rd minute of play forced MARATHON FC's goalkeeper Charilaos Leonardos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Minas Nikolatos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charilaos Leonardos having to interfere. If Minas Nikolatos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ilias Bolos's late challenge caught a Ampelón BC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ilias Bolos helped the player get up and apologised. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Evaggelos Pedoulakis managed to get in a good position for a shot. MARATHON FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Evaggelos Pedoulakis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giannis Kasnakidis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 41stth minute of the game Stelios Kapagiannidis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ampelón BC's Giannis Kasnakidis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Alekos Papaevaggelou's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Charilaos Leonardos was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. Vaggelis Mastrogiannis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Alekos Papaevaggelou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the MARATHON FC defense, Minas Nikolatos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Charilaos Leonardos. The MARATHON FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Charilaos Leonardos should have stopped the shot. Through an outstanding action, after 67 minutes, Giannis Kasnakidis successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 73rdth minute of the game Minas Nikolatos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MARATHON FC's Charilaos Leonardos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in MARATHON FC's zone, Alekos Papaevaggelou stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Charilaos Leonardos came out of the goal and Alekos Papaevaggelou tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Charilaos Leonardos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Minas Nikolatos's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. Alekos Papaevaggelou received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Charilaos Leonardos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Minas Nikolatos in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Charilaos Leonardos saved MARATHON FC from getting behind. Minas Nikolatos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Charilaos Leonardos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Ampelón BC booed when MARATHON FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vaggelis Mastrogiannis didn't get a good kick on the ball. MARATHON FC's Evaggelos Pedoulakis got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ampelón BC fans cheered their team off the field, for while MARATHON FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
