After a defensive mix-up in Palioplαtanos BC's zone, Dionysis Vamvakidis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thanasis Ieronimakis came out of the goal and Dionysis Vamvakidis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 6th minute, Chatziantoniou Konstantinidis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Juan Antonio Concepcion was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Oskar Davidsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thanasis Ieronimakis having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Oskar Davidsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ASTERAS SYROU FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Palioplαtanos BC's Thanasis Ieronimakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dionysis Vamvakidis in the 15th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Palioplαtanos BC's goal looked a bit too open when Nasos Telakos came free, but Thanasis Ieronimakis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 20th minute, Panos Moutafis reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Thanasis Ieronimakis. The goal made the score 2-1. Thanasis Ieronimakis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dionysis Vamvakidis's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. Dionysis Vamvakidis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thanasis Ieronimakis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Thanasis Ieronimakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dionysis Vamvakidis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 43 minutes into the match, ASTERAS SYROU FC's Dionysis Vamvakidis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thanasis Ieronimakis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 47 minutes into the game, ASTERAS SYROU FC's Nasos Telakos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dionysis Vamvakidis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thanasis Ieronimakis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 98th minute of play. If Dimitris Partaolas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 100th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
