But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anastasios Kalathas couldn't finish the play. 8 minutes into the game, Nikiforos Kalogerakis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dhimσkori's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Taxiαrchis the free kick. Nikiforos Kalogerakis kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. In the 12th minute, Kostas Kelpekis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giorgos Tatoulis in the 13th minute of play forced Taxiαrchis's goalkeeper Apostolikas Parasidis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Apostolikas Parasidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giorgos Tatoulis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Fanis Giannopoulos fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dhimσkori's protests and gave Fanis Giannopoulos a yellow card for diving instead. In the 17th match minute, Dhimσkori was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fanis Giannopoulos to maneuver through the defense. After 18 played minutes Dhimσkori got a freekick which was hit by Fanis Giannopoulos. Giorgos Tatoulis hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Apostolikas Parasidis made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Marinos Rokkas sent off a good shot on target. Taxiαrchis's Apostolikas Parasidis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giorgos Tatoulis in the 47th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After 52 minutes of play Dhimσkori's Fanis Giannopoulos was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 53rd minute, Fanis Giannopoulos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Taxiαrchis's Apostolikas Parasidis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marinos Rokkas in the 57th minute of play. After 58 minutes, Giannis Tebelopoulos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dhimσkori and the Taxiαrchis players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Taxiαrchis booed when Dhimσkori was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giannis Tebelopoulos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nikiforos Kalogerakis kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Thanos Paouris didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 63rd minute, which inside left pole to 0-1. In the 84th minute Panagiotis Valsamidis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thanos Paouris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 91 minutes, Panagiotis Valsamidis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Taxiαrchis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Panagiotis Valsamidis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Taxiαrchis supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Taxiαrchis would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
