But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marinos Rokkas couldn't finish the play. 34 minutes into the match, Varαkkes's goalkeeper Ronald Maerschalcx had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marinos Rokkas. After a defensive mix-up in Varαkkes's zone, Marinos Rokkas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronald Maerschalcx came out of the goal and Marinos Rokkas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ronald Maerschalcx showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giorgos Tatoulis, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Theagenis Sofos was the one to do the kick off. Despite this Ronald Maerschalcx quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Giorgos Kourbanas shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Giorgos Tatoulis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronald Maerschalcx having to interfere. If Marinos Rokkas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fanis Giannopoulos's late challenge caught a Varαkkes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fanis Giannopoulos helped the player get up and apologised. In the 91st minute, Fanis Giannopoulos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanos Paouris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Theagenis Sofos in the 92nd minute of the match. Ronald Maerschalcx took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marinos Rokkas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Dhimσkori fully deserved thier win.
