Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Giorgos Pinezas started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dimitris Bourantas in the 2nd minute of play forced Geroplátanos's goalkeeper Nestoras Kousouridis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 5th minute, Aimilios Leontokardos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dimitris Bourantas took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nestoras Kousouridis. Nestoras Kousouridis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The supporters of NEAR EAST booed when Geroplátanos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Omiros Kechribaris didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dimitris Bourantas struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Nestoras Kousouridis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for NEAR EAST. 13 minutes into the match, Dimitris Bourantas notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Geroplátanos's Nestoras Kousouridis. Nestoras Kousouridis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ignatios Karipidis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Hjalmar Bengtsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute of the match Thomas Bachramis shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nestoras Kousouridis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Aimilios Leontokardos came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the NEAR EAST fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aimilios Leontokardos couldn't finish the play. In the 26th minute Dimitris Bourantas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nestoras Kousouridis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aimilios Leontokardos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Nestoras Kousouridis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, Geroplátanos's goal looked a bit too open when Dimitris Bourantas came free, but Nestoras Kousouridis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nestoras Kousouridis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aimilios Leontokardos's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. A nice corner shot did that Miles Beck got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Nestoras Kousouridis quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 43 minutes into the match, NEAR EAST's goal looked a bit too open when Giorgos Pinezas came free, but Hjalmar Bengtsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dimitris Bourantas was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Dimitris Bourantas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Geroplátanos's Fotis Papaevaggelou got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 56th match minute, NEAR EAST was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomas Bachramis to maneuver through the defense. In the 60th minute, Omiros Kechribaris hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ignatios Karipidis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hjalmar Bengtsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giorgos Pinezas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 75th match minute, Geroplátanos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Omiros Kechribaris to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute, Zisis Panteloulis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eutichios Stavropoulos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Nestoras Kousouridis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geroplátanos's Giorgos Pinezas got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Miles Beck during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 89th match minute, NEAR EAST was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miles Beck to maneuver through the defense. 92 minutes into the match, Geroplátanos's Giorgos Pinezas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hjalmar Bengtsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ignatios Karipidis took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hjalmar Bengtsson. Hjalmar Bengtsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The Geroplátanos supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching NEAR EAST's performance. The match ended with a win for NEAR EAST.
