The Koukoϊlion FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ignatios Trakouselis should have stopped the shot. Babbis Papafotopoulos kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Ignatios Trakouselis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nektarios Fotoulis in the 15th minute of play. 23 minutes into the game, Koukoϊlion FC's Notis Markonis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vlassis Nikopolidis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. In the 29th minute, Notis Markonis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 33 minutes into the match, Kárpi's goalkeeper Vlassis Nikopolidis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Notis Markonis. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thodoris Marianos in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vlassis Nikopolidis saved Kárpi from getting behind. Vlassis Nikopolidis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thodoris Marianos in the 37th minute of the match. Thodoris Marianos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Vlassis Nikopolidis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute Eustratios Touchakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ignatios Trakouselis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kárpi's Vlassis Nikopolidis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Kárpi from getting a goal against them. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

In the 53rd minute, Eustratios Touchakis reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ignatios Trakouselis. The goal made the score 1-3. If Notis Markonis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Notis Markonis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 80 minutes into the match, Thodoris Marianos notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Kárpi's Vlassis Nikopolidis. Vlassis Nikopolidis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vlassis Nikopolidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Notis Markonis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 90thth minute of the game Thodoris Marianos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kárpi's Vlassis Nikopolidis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Eustratios Touchakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thodoris Marianos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The Koukoϊlion FC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Kárpi to win.
