Thrasivoulos Sikalias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aiyialσs's Dimitris Sapounopoulos got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Stamatis Pliatsikas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vaggelis Tragos in the 9th minute. With a little luck, Sokrátion's Stamatis Pliatsikas got control of the ball when Vaggelis Tragos tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Aiyialσs booed when Sokrátion was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vlassis Ioannidis didn't get a good kick on the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Kostas Stratidis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thrasivoulos Sikalias. Aiyialσs's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kostas Stratidis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. With 25 minutes on the clock, Christos Nikolaou commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 25 minutes into the game, one of Sokrátion:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. A collision led to Aiyialσs getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Manos Kioupouroglou hit a great ball. Vaggelis Tragos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Stamatis Pliatsikas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dimitris Sapounopoulos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sokrátion's Stamatis Pliatsikas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dimitris Sapounopoulos in the 56th minute of play. Kostas Stratidis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 61 minutes into the match, Aiyialσs's goalkeeper Thrasivoulos Sikalias had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Evripidis Vassaras. A collision led to Aiyialσs getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Ilias Kechagias hit a great ball. In the 66th minute Dimitris Sapounopoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stamatis Pliatsikas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Aiyialσs fans' excitement grew in the 70th match minute when Aiyialσs's Vaggelis Tragos looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vaggelis Tragos in the 75th minute of play forced Sokrátion's goalkeeper Stamatis Pliatsikas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dimitris Sapounopoulos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Stamatis Pliatsikas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Dimitris Sapounopoulos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 85 minutes into the game, Ilias Kechagias cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Stamatis Pliatsikas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. For all the effort they put into the match, the Sokrátion players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Aiyialσs.
