When Nestoras Ouzounis came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the NIKH 1924 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nestoras Ouzounis couldn't finish the play. After the first half NIKH 1924 were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kostas Karachristos to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in NIKH 1924's zone, Lakis Ritsos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Renos Tabakos came out of the goal and Lakis Ritsos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ilias Likouriotis made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Nestoras Ouzounis sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of NIKH 1924 booed when Αστερας Ραχουλας was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anastasios Christodoulatos didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Nestoras Ouzounis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Nestoras Ouzounis took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Ilias Likouriotis to make any attempt to save it. If Nestoras Ouzounis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kostas Karachristos in the 87th minute of play forced Αστερας Ραχουλας's goalkeeper Ilias Likouriotis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kostas Karachristos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ilias Likouriotis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. In the 95th minute, Nontas Charalambidis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Thodoris Stilianopoulos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle sounded NIKH 1924 left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Αστερας Ραχουλας.
