The audience thought a goal was coming when Ntinos Tsigas got free with Akis Kesoglou in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Diogenis Mavros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Loukas Metaxas's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. If Manos Potamias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Manos Potamias made a kick off. Akis Kesoglou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manos Potamias in the 55th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Manos Potamias ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Akis Kesoglou was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. One of Steniaνs:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Vathνremma BC:s goal. After a defensive mix-up in Steniaνs's zone, Ntinos Tsigas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Akis Kesoglou came out of the goal and Ntinos Tsigas tried to chip the ball over his head. In the 93rd match minute, Steniaνs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christos Lignos to maneuver through the defense. In the 96th minute, Christos Lignos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 99th minute Vathνremma BC were awarded a corner. Manos Anagnostopoulos went to the cornerflag to take it. Steniaνs's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
