In the 10th minute there was a penalty for Mérichas FC. Andreas Kalketenidis stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Vassilis Mantalakis. 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tasos Egomitis in the 13th minute of play forced ΠΑΟΚ GT's goalkeeper Vassilis Mantalakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Sotiris Aggelidis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Charalambos Kapranidis. That made the score 1-2 in the 17 minute of play. Mérichas FC's Charalambos Kapranidis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vlassis Moulos in the 21st minute of play. Aggelos Kalokliros charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aggelos Kalokliros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Vassilis Mantalakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fondas Petriniotis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vassilis Mantalakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tasos Egomitis in the 31st minute of play. ΠΑΟΚ GT's Vassilis Mantalakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tasos Egomitis in the 33rd minute of play. Miltos Bourousis scored 1-3 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vassilis Mantalakis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Tasos Egomitis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tasos Egomitis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Miltos Bourousis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Sotiris Aggelidis managed to get in a good position for a shot. ΠΑΟΚ GT's supporters rose to their feet, but Sotiris Aggelidis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Charalambos Kapranidis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 52 minutes into the game, one of Mérichas FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Mérichas FC's Tasos Egomitis got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tasos Egomitis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Vassilis Mantalakis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 65 minutes of play ΠΑΟΚ GT's Aggelos Kalokliros was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Tasos Egomitis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tasos Egomitis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vassilis Mantalakis having to interfere. Mérichas FC's Fondas Petriniotis suffered a concussion after 78 minutes and had to leave the field. In the 84th minute, Minas Tsoulkas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of ΠΑΟΚ GT booed when Mérichas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alekos Anastasis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Makis Papagiannakis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
