Káto Despotikón's supporters rose to their feet, but Markos Tassoglou was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sotos Tabakos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Savas Tzolis in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Konstantinos Togas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Kleanthis Macheras came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Ellinokastron BC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kleanthis Macheras couldn't finish the play. An unexpected shot in the 22nd minute by Markos Tassoglou got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 24th minute, Ilias Psaris reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sotos Tabakos. The goal made the score 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Káto Despotikón's zone, Savas Tzolis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Konstantinos Togas came out of the goal and Savas Tzolis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kleanthis Macheras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Konstantinos Togas having to interfere. If Savas Tzolis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute Kleanthis Macheras shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Konstantinos Togas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Markos Tassoglou sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kleanthis Macheras was the one to do the kick off. Káto Despotikón's Markos Tassoglou got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 55th minute, Kleanthis Macheras fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Savas Tzolis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 58thth minute, Konstantinos Togas skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Konstantinos Togas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Savas Tzolis in the 60th minute. Savas Tzolis charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Savas Tzolis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Káto Despotikón booed when Ellinokastron BC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Savas Tzolis didn't get a good kick on the ball. 67 minutes into the game, Markos Tassoglou cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Sotos Tabakos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Konstantinos Togas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kleanthis Macheras in the 71st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Káto Despotikón's zone, Thanos Politis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Konstantinos Togas came out of the goal and Thanos Politis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Takis Zacharopoulos, 76 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Ilias Psaris might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sotos Tabakos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ilias Psaris ran back to his position shaking his head. Káto Despotikón's Konstantinos Togas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Káto Despotikón from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Isidoros Kokoris during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Isidoros Kokoris hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. In the 90th minute of the match, Kleanthis Macheras tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Konstantinos Togas saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Christodoulos Kapetanidis hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Káto Despotikón's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
