The audience was convinced that Theofanis Arnidis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sotos Tabakos was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Sotos Tabakos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christos Ioannidis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kleanthis Macheras in the 24th minute of play forced Liyiá's goalkeeper Omiros Tsiafkaris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Savas Tzolis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kleanthis Macheras received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Sotos Tabakos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Christos Ioannidis went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Kleanthis Macheras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Savas Tzolis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Omiros Tsiafkaris read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Christos Ioannidis to make the kick off. Thanos Politis charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thanos Politis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Theofanis Arnidis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Sotos Tabakos made a huge save. The supporters of Liyiá booed when Ellinokastron BC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Periklis Botinos didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Kostas Panteliadis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Ellinokastron BC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Periklis Botinos hit a great ball. Theofanis Arnidis scored 0-2 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sotos Tabakos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kleanthis Macheras blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Omiros Tsiafkaris having to make a save. If Savas Tzolis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th minute, Periklis Botinos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Theofanis Arnidis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Sotos Tabakos made a huge save. When Andreas Kolibas fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Liyiá's protests and gave Andreas Kolibas a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Liyiá getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Andreas Kolibas hit a great ball. Christos Ioannidis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Sotos Tabakos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Liyiá had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
