The referee ignored Recreativo de Huelva's protests and gave Panos Kaligeros a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of OFA FC booed when Recreativo de Huelva was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Panos Kaligeros didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Gerasimos Iordanidis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Panagiotis Lemonis in the 17th minute of play forced Recreativo de Huelva's goalkeeper Lazaros Farmakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the match, OFA FC's goalkeeper Akis Kontis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Panos Pavlos. Panos Pavlos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Akis Kontis made a huge save. After 35 minutes, Christos Dermitzakis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the OFA FC and the Recreativo de Huelva players grew even worse after the yellow card. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stiliyan Drangazhov was the one to do the kick off. Panagiotis Lemonis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lazaros Farmakis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Lazaros Farmakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Panagiotis Lemonis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Panagiotis Lemonis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Lazaros Farmakis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, Panos Pavlos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Akis Kontis. OFA FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Panos Pavlos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Panagiotis Lemonis took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Lazaros Farmakis to make any attempt to save it. But to his dismay, Panagiotis Lemonis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Gerasimos Iordanidis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
