Alekos Tomaras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ελπις Εδεσσας-Hellas's goalkeeper Simos Kakoudakis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eugenios Katsiaros couldn't finish the play. If Vlassis Kotsios had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Ελπις Εδεσσας-Hellas's Simos Karagrigoriou got a free kick in the 43rd minute. When Koulis Petriniotis came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Sfendνli FC fans jumped to their feet. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eugenios Katsiaros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vlassis Kotsios's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Simos Kakoudakis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Simos Kakoudakis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vlassis Kotsios, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
