Panathinaikos Megara's Nikos Skatzos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Panos Stratopoulos in the 15th minute of play. Charis Siobolos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Giannis Asimatos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th match minute, Panathinaikos Megara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nontas Salevris to maneuver through the defense. Panathinaikos Megara's Marios Kavourakis got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Charis Siobolos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Giannis Asimatos was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. In the 32nd minute, Marios Kavourakis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Giannis Asimatos was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After having played for 36 minutes, Marios Kavourakis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panathinaikos Megara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marios Kavourakis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Odysseas Vrazilianos took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 42nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Giannis Asimatos. AEK1924's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Marios Kavourakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Giannis Asimatos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Nikos Skatzos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Theodosis Kanellopoulos in the 101st minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Panathinaikos Megara left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than AEK1924.
