Aris Kalivitis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fu Qiang Jian, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. With an all-out effort, Lekhσnia's Serafim Coutinho threw himself towards the right post 7 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Thodoris Nanos, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 10th match minute, Spartans fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fu Qiang Jian to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Lekhσnia booed when Spartans fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vaggelis Tsatsaronis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stavros Akrivoulis kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, Spartans fc's goalkeeper Serafim Coutinho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leonidas Kakogiannis. Serafim Coutinho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leonidas Kakogiannis went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Aris Kalivitis came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Spartans fc's Fu Qiang Jian. But to his dismay, Fu Qiang Jian quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. The audience was convinced that Fu Qiang Jian's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aris Kalivitis was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

53 minutes into the match, Spartans fc's goal looked a bit too open when Leonidas Kakogiannis came free, but Serafim Coutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 56th play minutes Fu Qiang Jian shot 1-4, a short shot which went by Aris Kalivitis and just under the crossbar into goal. Spartans fc's Fu Qiang Jian was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 62nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 65 minutes, Aris Kalivitis successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Stelios Karatasos struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Aris Kalivitis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Spartans fc. Spartans fc's Vaggelis Soulidis was substituted for Stelios Karatasos. Aris Kalivitis made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Panos Astaris sent off a good shot on target. After 70 played minutes Lekhσnia got a freekick which was hit by Tilemachos Pagitis. If Fu Qiang Jian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aris Kalivitis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nikos Zouboulis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Giannis Chatzivrettas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 85 minutes, Makis Pavlakakis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lekhσnia and the Spartans fc players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Lekhσnia getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Makis Pavlakakis hit a great ball. Vaggelis Tsatsaronis charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vaggelis Tsatsaronis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 89 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Spartans fc! In the 93rd minute there was a penalty for Lekhσnia. Makis Pavlakakis stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Serafim Coutinho. 2-6. Giannis Chatzivrettas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Aris Kalivitis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
