When Merkada FC's Panagiotis Vyntra in the 4th minute got a chance for a shot 4th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye PØRTØ L£ØN£'s goalie prevented a goal. Thanasis Bollos came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Merkada FC's Babbis Vakirtzis. But to his dismay, Babbis Vakirtzis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nikolas Leontiadis in the 9th minute of play forced Merkada FC's goalkeeper Nikos Kafes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Theocharis Giannakidis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Nikos Kafes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Panagiotis Vyntra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the match, PØRTØ L£ØN£'s goalkeeper Thanasis Bollos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Panagiotis Vyntra. In the 32nd minute Panagiotis Vyntra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thanasis Bollos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Babbis Vakirtzis got free with Thanasis Bollos in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Panagiotis Vyntra might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thanasis Bollos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Panagiotis Vyntra ran back to his position shaking his head. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nikolas Leontiadis made a kick off. Nikos Kafes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nikolas Leontiadis in the 53rd minute of play. Nikos Kafes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nikolas Leontiadis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Panagiotis Vyntra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Spyros Xiros kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in PØRTØ L£ØN£'s zone, Panagiotis Vyntra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thanasis Bollos came out of the goal and Panagiotis Vyntra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. PØRTØ L£ØN£ were furious when Spyros Xiros was red carded, 79 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 78th minute, one of PØRTØ L£ØN£:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for PØRTØ L£ØN£. Theocharis Giannakidis struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Nikos Kafes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PØRTØ L£ØN£. Merkada FC's Chrisostomos Evaggellakis was substituted for Giorgos Kourkoulas. 93 minutes into the match, Babbis Vakirtzis notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of PØRTØ L£ØN£'s Thanasis Bollos. Thanasis Bollos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the referee ended the match the Merkada FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
