Spectators: 7588 (Terracing: 5731, Seating: 1757, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Thalis Sofianos started the match with the kick off. In the last second Apostolikas Karasavvidis throw himself and got hold of the ball when Koulis Kalimeris in the 7thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After a rather tough play, Polichnνtos BC's Vaios Pentedekas got a free kick in the 12th minute. When Thalis Sofianos came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Vikings fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thalis Sofianos couldn't finish the play. Apostolikas Karasavvidis didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 22nd minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. 30 minutes into the match, Polichnνtos BC's goalkeeper Apostolikas Karasavvidis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tony Delabre. In the 31st match minute, Polichnνtos BC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vaios Pentedekas to maneuver through the defense. Thalis Sofianos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Apostolikas Karasavvidis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Apostolikas Karasavvidis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thalis Sofianos in the 35th minute. Koulis Kalimeris recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Thalis Sofianos got free with Apostolikas Karasavvidis in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The wind increased when Vaios Pentedekas made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Polichnνtos BC's zone, Thalis Sofianos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Apostolikas Karasavvidis came out of the goal and Thalis Sofianos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Apostolikas Karasavvidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Theofanis Karagiannidis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Polichnνtos BC's Apostolikas Karasavvidis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tony Delabre in the 53rd minute of play. The Vikings fans' excitement grew in the 55th match minute when Vikings's Thalis Sofianos looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Apostolikas Karasavvidis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Koulis Kalimeris, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 60th minute Koulis Kalimeris shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apostolikas Karasavvidis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 65th match minute, Vikings was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kleon Stavrinos to maneuver through the defense. Apostolikas Karasavvidis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thalis Sofianos went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Apostolikas Karasavvidis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thalis Sofianos's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. When Vikings's Thalis Sofianos in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Polichnνtos BC's goalie prevented a goal. 73 minutes into the match, Polichnνtos BC's goal looked a bit too open when Tony Delabre came free, but Apostolikas Karasavvidis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Apostolikas Karasavvidis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tony Delabre went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Vikings's Nektarios Kolitsidakis was substituted for Kleon Stavrinos. After 80 played minutes Polichnνtos BC got a freekick which was hit by Vaios Pentedekas. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iraklis Koutos in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Apostolikas Karasavvidis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Theofanis Karagiannidis scored 5-0 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Apostolikas Karasavvidis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Apostolikas Karasavvidis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Iraklis Koutos's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. Thalis Sofianos struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Apostolikas Karasavvidis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vikings. 94 minutes into the game, Vikings's Thalis Sofianos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Apostolikas Karasavvidis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thalis Sofianos in the 97th minute of play forced Polichnνtos BC's goalkeeper Apostolikas Karasavvidis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the Vikings players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
