The audience thought a goal was coming when Thalis Tsitouras got free with Efthimis Velatos in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 5th minute Dimitris Kapetanopoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Efthimis Velatos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 17 played minutes ΘΡΥΛΟΣ got a freekick which was hit by Aggelos Karagiannidis. In the 24th minute, Aris Politakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Panos Nikelis's late challenge caught a ΘΡΥΛΟΣ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Panos Nikelis helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Astakσs getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Panos Nikelis hit a great ball. After 34 played minutes Astakσs got a freekick which was hit by Vladimiros Anagnostopoulos. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valentinos Tsakoumis in the 37th minute of play forced Astakσs's goalkeeper Michalis Rakkas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. ΘΡΥΛΟΣ's Valentinos Tsakoumis managed to work through Astakσs's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Valentinos Tsakoumis dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. After some careless play in the ΘΡΥΛΟΣ defense, Thalis Tsitouras kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Efthimis Velatos. The ΘΡΥΛΟΣ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Efthimis Velatos should have stopped the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dimitris Kapetanopoulos to strike the kick off in the second half. Kostas Logothetis succeeded in the game's 54th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. The supporters of Astakσs booed when ΘΡΥΛΟΣ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kostas Logothetis couldn't finish the play. In the 73rd minute of the match Zisis Zacharis shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Efthimis Velatos showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thalis Tsitouras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With 78 minutes on the clock, Nikos Tochouroglou commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card.
