Babbis Spazocheris helped the player get up and apologised. The long shot by Minas Skountouflas in the 7th minute really tested Kostas Stathopoulos's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Kostas Stathopoulos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andreas Belsis in the 10th minute. Andreas Belsis came free with the goalkeeper in the 12th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Kostas Stathopoulos could save by the left post. If Thomas Kabouras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th minute, Pavlos Petkakis made a precise shot to the right of Odysseas Mikros. DEJA VU's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Odysseas Mikros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thomas Kabouras, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Markos Lianos hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Alekos Morikis's late challenge caught a AO Xanthi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alekos Morikis helped the player get up and apologised. In the 28th match minute, DEJA VU was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alekos Morikis to maneuver through the defense. Thomas Kabouras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Odysseas Mikros having to interfere. Thomas Kabouras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute, Ntinos Kolotoubis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 39 minutes, Petros Tzevelekos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DEJA VU's supporters crossed their fingers, but Petros Tzevelekos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Odysseas Mikros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomas Kabouras, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The DEJA VU players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. AO Xanthi were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Thomas Kabouras to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of AO Xanthi booed when DEJA VU was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Markos Lianos didn't get a good kick on the ball. The DEJA VU fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Odysseas Mikros should have stopped the shot. 71 minutes into the match, AO Xanthi's goal looked a bit too open when Petros Tzevelekos came free, but Kostas Stathopoulos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Apostolis Tsartas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Odysseas Mikros made a huge save. Odysseas Mikros was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ntinos Kolotoubis. When Thomas Kabouras came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the AO Xanthi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thomas Kabouras couldn't finish the play. A collision led to DEJA VU getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Vassilis Marinos hit a great ball. After 87 played minutes, AO Xanthi's Ntinos Kolotoubis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Odysseas Mikros came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in AO Xanthi reached it. The supporters of DEJA VU booed when AO Xanthi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aris Papastavrou didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th minute of the match Minas Skountouflas sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kostas Stathopoulos skillfully saved the ball. When Thomas Kabouras came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the AO Xanthi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thomas Kabouras couldn't finish the play. Odysseas Mikros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomas Kabouras in the 93rd minute of play. When the final whistle sounded AO Xanthi left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than DEJA VU.
