Chrisostomos Iordanopoulos did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised Sotiris Michalolias 40 minutes into the match. Pavlos Stathis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vlassis Venieris, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Olympiacos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tolis Gavrilidis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pavlos Stathis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stavros Efthimidis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olympiacos FC's Tolis Gavrilidis got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Olympiacos FC played a much better game than Palaion Diasellon and deserved their victory. The Palaion Diasellon players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
