The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Vergadhaνika's Giorgos Paterakis in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Panaitolikos's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Panaitolikos's zone, Giorgos Roros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stratos Karastathis came out of the goal and Giorgos Roros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Giorgos Paterakis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stratos Karastathis having to interfere. Kostas Tsiamitras stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Veniamin Kyprianos's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. If Veniamin Kyprianos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Vergadhaνika getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Iosif Klidis hit a great ball. In the 30th minute, Giorgos Roros made a precise shot to the right of Stratos Karastathis. Panaitolikos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexandros Tsoukalas got free with Kostas Tsiamitras in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 36th minute, Giorgos Roros made a precise shot to the right of Stratos Karastathis. Panaitolikos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Giorgos Paterakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Stratos Karastathis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 46 minutes into the game, Vergadhaνika's Giorgos Paterakis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Stratos Karastathis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Giorgos Roros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stratos Karastathis having to interfere. In the 55th minute, Vergadhaνika's Giorgos Paterakis dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. Giorgos Paterakis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Stratos Karastathis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giorgos Paterakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Giorgos Roros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Panaitolikos getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Dimos Skondras hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Theofilos Laternas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vergadhaνika's supporters rose to their feet, but Theofilos Laternas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stratos Karastathis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Giorgos Roros was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 73rd minute. Vergadhaνika's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Fanis Kamelatos kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. The supporters of Panaitolikos booed when Vergadhaνika was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vaggelis Lekanis didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 83 played minutes Panaitolikos got a freekick which was hit by Giannis Kariotakis. When Giorgos Paterakis got free in front of the goal in the 88th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Stratos Karastathis was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Stratos Karastathis made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Giorgos Roros sent off a good shot on target. The Panaitolikos fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Vergadhaνika were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
