In the 3rd minute, Nikos Tevekelis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Thiva's Manos Anastasis got a free kick in the 6th minute. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Dimitris Kisemlis put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Nikos Chatzipetrou. In the 13th minute, Dimitris Kisemlis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Valentinos Kyriakakoglou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexis Aggelakos in the 15th minute of the match. Valentinos Kyriakakoglou took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexis Aggelakos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dimitris Kisemlis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nikos Chatzipetrou having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Oxford University's Dimitris Kisemlis got a free kick in the 26th minute. Alexis Aggelakos might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Valentinos Kyriakakoglou. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alexis Aggelakos ran back to his position shaking his head. Alexis Aggelakos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Valentinos Kyriakakoglou tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manos Anastasis in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valentinos Kyriakakoglou saved Oxford University from getting behind. Nikos Liberiou hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute of the match Paraskevas Ipsilantis shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valentinos Kyriakakoglou showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Oxford University's Nikos Liberiou got a free kick in the 47th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alexis Aggelakos made a kick off. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Thiva's goalkeeper Nikos Chatzipetrou, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dimitris Kisemlis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nikos Chatzipetrou having to interfere. Dimitris Kisemlis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nikos Chatzipetrou read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Thiva's Alexis Aggelakos got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dimitris Kisemlis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Nikos Chatzipetrou tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Christos Labakis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Valentinos Kyriakakoglou. That made the score 1-1 in the 78 minute of play. After having played for 82 minutes, Nikos Tevekelis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oxford University's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nikos Tevekelis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 85 played minutes Thiva got a freekick which was hit by Nestoras Kanatas. After 86 played minutes, Oxford University's Aggelos Vasilopoulos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nikos Chatzipetrou came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Oxford University reached it. Nektarios Boulougouris charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nektarios Boulougouris the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After recieving a nice pass, Thiva's Paraskevas Ipsilantis tried to score from far away in the 92nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Nikos Chatzipetrou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dimitris Kisemlis in the 95th minute of play. The Thiva players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Oxford University from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
