An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignatios Iosifakis in the 12th minute of play forced ΞΥΛΟΚΑΣΤΡΟ Α.Ο's goalkeeper Michalis Gelis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fondas Pezikoglou kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Giannis Karalexopoulos got free with Michalis Gelis in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 30 minutes of play, ΞΥΛΟΚΑΣΤΡΟ Α.Ο's Pantelis Tripolitis made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Filippos Mouratidis was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kostas Bletsios lost his temper 34 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 34 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for ΞΥΛΟΚΑΣΤΡΟ Α.Ο! Michalis Gelis had in the 37thth minute some difficulties stopping Nikos Kamaras's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Chrisostomos Morikis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filippos Mouratidis having to interfere. After 42 played minutes Α.Σ. ΚΕΡΑΥΝΟΣ ΣΙΤΟΧΩΡΟΥ got a freekick which was hit by Sotos Mantas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignatios Iosifakis in the 44th minute of play forced ΞΥΛΟΚΑΣΤΡΟ Α.Ο's goalkeeper Michalis Gelis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Louis Tamvakis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Filippos Mouratidis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chrisostomos Morikis struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Filippos Mouratidis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ΞΥΛΟΚΑΣΤΡΟ Α.Ο. Louis Tamvakis took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Filippos Mouratidis. Filippos Mouratidis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Nikiforos Riganopoulos struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Filippos Mouratidis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ΞΥΛΟΚΑΣΤΡΟ Α.Ο. Chrisostomos Morikis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Α.Σ. ΚΕΡΑΥΝΟΣ ΣΙΤΟΧΩΡΟΥ's zone, Louis Tamvakis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filippos Mouratidis came out of the goal and Louis Tamvakis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Louis Tamvakis struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Filippos Mouratidis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ΞΥΛΟΚΑΣΤΡΟ Α.Ο. If Chrisostomos Morikis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 91 minutes, Paraskevas Tranos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Α.Σ. ΚΕΡΑΥΝΟΣ ΣΙΤΟΧΩΡΟΥ and the ΞΥΛΟΚΑΣΤΡΟ Α.Ο players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Louis Tamvakis came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the ΞΥΛΟΚΑΣΤΡΟ Α.Ο fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Louis Tamvakis couldn't finish the play. Chrisostomos Morikis scored 1-5 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Filippos Mouratidis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. ΞΥΛΟΚΑΣΤΡΟ Α.Ο's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
