The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Iraklis Meletakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Charis Kokotoulis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Kostas Lianopoulos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 9th minute, Makis Loumidis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Manolis Koboropoulos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chatziioannou Kabouras in the 18th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Chatziioannou Kabouras made a precise shot to the right of Manolis Koboropoulos. Salamanlí's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lambis Kaloritis got free with Manolis Koboropoulos in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 22 minutes into the match, Skouloudhianα FC's Chatziioannou Kabouras sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Manolis Koboropoulos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kostas Lianopoulos struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Charis Kokotoulis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Salamanlí. The supporters of Skouloudhianα FC booed when Salamanlí was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iraklis Meletakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lambis Kaloritis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iraklis Meletakis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charis Kokotoulis having to interfere. Kostas Lianopoulos hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 36th minute, Errikos Papoutsis sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Salamanlí's Manolis Koboropoulos didn't even have to move. Efthimis Theofilidis charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Efthimis Theofilidis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Efthimis Theofilidis kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Giannis Sfakianos took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Charis Kokotoulis. Charis Kokotoulis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chatziioannou Kabouras was the one to do the kick off. Makis Loumidis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Charis Kokotoulis having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lambis Kaloritis during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 59th match minute, Skouloudhianα FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lambis Kaloritis to maneuver through the defense. In the 65th minute, Chatziioannou Kabouras left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Skouloudhianα FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. After a rather tough play, Skouloudhianα FC's Charalambos Tsagarakis got a free kick in the 68th minute. Kostas Lianopoulos took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Charis Kokotoulis. Charis Kokotoulis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Manolis Koboropoulos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lambis Kaloritis, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. 74 minutes into the game, Iraklis Meletakis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Salamanlí's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Skouloudhianα FC the free kick. Giannis Sfakianos might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Charis Kokotoulis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Giannis Sfakianos ran back to his position shaking his head. Kostas Lianopoulos's late challenge caught a Skouloudhianα FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kostas Lianopoulos helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Salamanlí's Kostas Lianopoulos got a free kick in the 81st minute. Charis Kokotoulis came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Salamanlí's Iraklis Meletakis. But to his dismay, Iraklis Meletakis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Manolis Koboropoulos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chatziioannou Kabouras, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kostas Lianopoulos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Salamanlí's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
