Nektarios Bourantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pipis Adamakis having to interfere. If Nontas Skiriotis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the match, BARCA's goal looked a bit too open when Takis Katsoulis came free, but Pavlos Liolidis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Markos Soupidis in the 20th minute of play forced BARCA's goalkeeper Pavlos Liolidis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Markos Soupidis to make the kick off.
