Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Giotis Moustakidis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Evaggelos Belesis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Evaggelos Belesis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stelios Tarantakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. The supporters of INTER FC booed when Pieria fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Telis Sioufas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nektarios Vrasidas took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 24th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Evaggelos Belesis. Pieria fc's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Giorgos Georgiou was a little too slow when Stefanos Katsabas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 32nd minute. The score was now 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giotis Moustakidis in the 39th minute of play forced Pieria fc's goalkeeper Evaggelos Belesis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 40 minutes, Stelios Tarantakis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. INTER FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stelios Tarantakis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 41st minute, Aris Zounis fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Giorgos Georgiou, passed just outside the right post. Aris Zounis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eleftherios Svirkos kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Stefanos Katsabas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pieria fc's supporters rose to their feet, but Stefanos Katsabas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giorgos Georgiou breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stefanos Katsabas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Pieria fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vaggelis Psifidis to maneuver through the defense. INTER FC's Giorgos Georgiou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aris Zounis in the 53rd minute of play. Stelios Tarantakis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evaggelos Belesis having to interfere. After 57 played minutes Pieria fc got a freekick which was hit by Telis Sioufas.
