Zinon Kazakopoulos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alketas Kounoupis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zakynthiakos FC's Fanis Karagiotis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Markos Fotiadis in the 17th minute of play. Christos Fragis might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zinon Kazakopoulos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Christos Fragis ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Alketas Kounoupis put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Zinon Kazakopoulos. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 25th minute of the game. One of Mylopotamos FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Zakynthiakos FC:s goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alketas Kounoupis in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zinon Kazakopoulos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fanis Karagiotis was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Markos Fotiadis showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 42 minute of play. Stergios Stratikis hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Christos Fragis was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stergios Doulkeroglou during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 53rd minute, one of Zakynthiakos FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Zakynthiakos FC. In the 55th minute there was a penalty for Mylopotamos FC. Giannis Manetas stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Fanis Karagiotis. 3-2. Christos Fragis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sofoklis Stefanidis's late challenge caught a Zakynthiakos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sofoklis Stefanidis helped the player get up and apologised. In the 69th minute Alketas Kounoupis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zinon Kazakopoulos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Markos Fotiadis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fanis Karagiotis. Zakynthiakos FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Markos Fotiadis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. 76 minutes into the match, Zakynthiakos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Markos Fotiadis came free, but Fanis Karagiotis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, Markos Fotiadis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fanis Karagiotis. Zakynthiakos FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Markos Fotiadis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-2. If Miltiadis Serpanos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Christos Fragis came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Zakynthiakos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christos Fragis couldn't finish the play. After 96 played minutes Mylopotamos FC got a freekick which was hit by Menios Papadimitriou. For all the effort they put into the match, the Zakynthiakos FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Mylopotamos FC.
