After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Christos Fragis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alketas Kounoupis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Stergios Topalidis made a huge save. 23 minutes into the match, City fc's goalkeeper Stergios Topalidis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alketas Kounoupis. After having played for 25 minutes, Alketas Kounoupis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zakynthiakos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alketas Kounoupis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zakynthiakos FC's Fanis Karagiotis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonis Velakos in the 27th minute of play. After having played for 28 minutes, Stelios Skapaneas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fanis Karagiotis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Prokopis Traganitis in the 39th minute of play. Stergios Topalidis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christos Fragis, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Christos Fragis to make the kick off. Fanis Karagiotis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stelios Skapaneas, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. After 56 played minutes City fc got a freekick which was hit by Paris Zorbadelis. If Alketas Kounoupis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute Christos Fragis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stergios Topalidis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 60th match minute, City fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Prokopis Traganitis to maneuver through the defense. Stergios Topalidis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
