In the 12th minute, Giannis Papoutsas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 14thth minute of the game Vassilis Polichronos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ΕΛΛΑΣ's Giannis Sofos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 15 played minutes ΕΛΛΑΣ got a freekick which was hit by Chatziantoniou Serdaris. In the 18th minute, Chatziantoniou Serdaris hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Giannis Papoutsas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vassilis Polichronos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Vassilis Polichronos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Giannis Sofos. That made the score 1-0 in the 23 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in HANNIBAL's zone, Alexandros Koutroutsos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vaggelis Kaliris came out of the goal and Alexandros Koutroutsos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 29th match minute, HANNIBAL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Akakios Myroforidis to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 30 minutes, Alexandros Koutroutsos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ΕΛΛΑΣ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandros Koutroutsos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Giannis Papoutsas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Giannis Sofos made a huge save. HANNIBAL's Vaggelis Kaliris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandros Koutroutsos in the 35th minute of play. Eugenios Margaritis struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Vaggelis Kaliris didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ΕΛΛΑΣ. In the 40th minute, one of HANNIBAL:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for HANNIBAL. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alexandros Koutroutsos was the one to do the kick off. ΕΛΛΑΣ's Giannis Sofos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vassilis Polichronos in the 53rd minute of play. If Eugenios Margaritis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th minute, Giannis Papoutsas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The HANNIBAL fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vassilis Polichronos in the 81st minute of play forced ΕΛΛΑΣ's goalkeeper Giannis Sofos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexandros Koutroutsos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vaggelis Kaliris having to interfere. In the 94th minute, Giannis Papoutsas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
