The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Michalis Kaliris kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Giannis Sofos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stamatis Tsirkos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christodoulos Papaefstathiou took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 6th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Giannis Sofos. ΕΛΛΑΣ's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Stratos Poursaitidis came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the INTER FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stratos Poursaitidis couldn't finish the play. The supporters of INTER FC booed when ΕΛΛΑΣ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chatziantoniou Serdaris didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stratos Poursaitidis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Christos Evaggellou kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. A collision led to ΕΛΛΑΣ getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Thanos Zaninos hit a great ball. The INTER FC fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when INTER FC's Stratos Poursaitidis looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Stamatis Tsirkos might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Giannis Sofos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stamatis Tsirkos ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of INTER FC booed when ΕΛΛΑΣ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chatziantoniou Serdaris didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 35 minutes, Alexandros Koutroutsos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ΕΛΛΑΣ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandros Koutroutsos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. ΕΛΛΑΣ's Giannis Sofos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Theagenis Sousanis in the 38th minute of play. In the 39thth minute of the game Stratos Poursaitidis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ΕΛΛΑΣ's Giannis Sofos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 40th minute, Michalis Kaliris got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. INTER FC's Fotis Tsirogiannis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save INTER FC from getting a goal against them. After 45 minutes of play, INTER FC's Stratos Poursaitidis made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Giannis Sofos was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half INTER FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alexandros Koutroutsos to make the kick off. When the match clock showed 52 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Stratos Poursaitidis sped through ΕΛΛΑΣ's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Giannis Sofos. In the 56th minute, Fanis Farmakidis reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Giannis Sofos. The goal made the score 0-5. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fanis Farmakidis in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Giannis Sofos saved ΕΛΛΑΣ from getting behind. Giannis Sofos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stamatis Tsirkos in the 64th minute. The long shot by Fanis Farmakidis in the 66th minute really tested Giannis Sofos's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Stratos Poursaitidis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giannis Sofos having to interfere. Giannis Sofos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stratos Poursaitidis, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Stratos Poursaitidiss short, quick shot in the 82ndth minute got Giannis Sofos to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Zinon Liadelis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giannis Sofos having to interfere. ΕΛΛΑΣ's Giannis Sofos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fanis Farmakidis in the 93rd minute of play. The ΕΛΛΑΣ fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. INTER FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
