Spectators: 7651 (Terracing: 5740, Seating: 1759, VIP seats: 152) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Giannis Kabantais made the kick off which started today's match. The supporters of Vamos Alania booed when AZZURRO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Spyros Panagiotoulis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Miltos Mitrakoglous short, quick shot in the 5thth minute got Prodromos Kokkalidis to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in AZZURRO's zone, Giannis Kabantais stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Prodromos Kokkalidis came out of the goal and Giannis Kabantais tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Giannis Kabantais blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Prodromos Kokkalidis having to make a save. Prodromos Kokkalidis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giannis Kabantais, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Prodromos Kokkalidis came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Vamos Alania's Miltos Mitrakoglou. But to his dismay, Miltos Mitrakoglou quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 28th minute of the game. One of Vamos Alania:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of AZZURRO:s goal. The referee gave AZZURRO a penalty, 30 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Giannis Kakatsios, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Vamos Alania's Dimos Tsichlas. 1-1. Prodromos Kokkalidis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas Matsaggos in the 33rd minute of the match. Dimos Tsichlas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Konstantinos Koumaditis in the 38th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Konstantinos Koumaditis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AZZURRO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. 44 minutes into the match, Konstantinos Koumaditis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dimos Tsichlas. Vamos Alania's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Konstantinos Koumaditis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. 1-4 became the score in the 48th minute when Konstantinos Koumaditis elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The Vamos Alania players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. AZZURRO were winning 1-4.

The wind increased when Konstantinos Koumaditis made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miltos Mitrakoglou in the 56th minute of play forced AZZURRO's goalkeeper Prodromos Kokkalidis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 59 minutes, Paris Gaitanis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AZZURRO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paris Gaitanis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dimos Tsichlas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Konstantinos Koumaditis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paris Gaitanis took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dimos Tsichlas. Dimos Tsichlas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miltos Mitrakoglou in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Prodromos Kokkalidis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Miltos Mitrakoglou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Vamos Alania defense, Paris Gaitanis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dimos Tsichlas. The Vamos Alania fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dimos Tsichlas should have stopped the shot. Paris Gaitanis might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dimos Tsichlas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paris Gaitanis ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 93rd minute, Miltos Mitrakoglou got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The AZZURRO supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing AZZURRO would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
