After 7 played minutes Xalkida got a freekick which was hit by Iason Kapsis. After 10 played minutes Red Elikon Dragons got a freekick which was hit by Anthimos Siradakis. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Vassilis Apostolidis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Xalkida's supporters rose to their feet, but Vassilis Apostolidis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kostas Giotoulis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 24th minute of the match Christos Paschalis sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kostas Giotoulis skillfully saved the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Xalkida's goalkeeper Marinos Stabouloglou had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vaggelis Stamatellis. In the 31st minute of the match Christos Paschalis shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kostas Giotoulis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Zisis Tourkogiorgis received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Marinos Stabouloglou came out and tried to block the shot, but Zisis Tourkogiorgis slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 32nd minute. Xalkida's Marinos Stabouloglou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zisis Tourkogiorgis in the 37th minute of play. Vaggelis Stamatellis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Xalkida's Marinos Stabouloglou got control of the ball when Vaggelis Stamatellis tried to sneak it across the goal line. 47 minutes into the match, Xalkida's goal looked a bit too open when Zisis Tourkogiorgis came free, but Marinos Stabouloglou reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zisis Tourkogiorgis in the 59th minute of play forced Xalkida's goalkeeper Marinos Stabouloglou to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 2-0 became the score in the 63rd minute when Vaggelis Stamatellis elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Thomas Maras hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Marinos Stabouloglou showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vaggelis Stamatellis, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Xalkida's zone, Zisis Tourkogiorgis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marinos Stabouloglou came out of the goal and Zisis Tourkogiorgis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 74th minute Zisis Tourkogiorgis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marinos Stabouloglou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Xalkida booed when Red Elikon Dragons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Takis Georgakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76thth minute of the game Vassilis Apostolidis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Red Elikon Dragons's Kostas Giotoulis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Konstantinos Georgakos came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Red Elikon Dragons fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Konstantinos Georgakos couldn't finish the play. Thomas Maras took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 88th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Kostas Giotoulis. Red Elikon Dragons's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 92nd match minute, Red Elikon Dragons was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Minas Theodorakelis to maneuver through the defense. In the 95th minute Takis Georgakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marinos Stabouloglou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Red Elikon Dragons's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
