The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Theodosis Garpozis during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Trikala F.C. getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Theodosis Garpozis hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Aravissσs BC's zone, Thanasis Souliopoulos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kostas Kosmoulis came out of the goal and Thanasis Souliopoulos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kostas Kosmoulis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lefteris Pikilidis, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Aravissσs BC's goal looked a bit too open when Thanasis Souliopoulos came free, but Kostas Kosmoulis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kostas Kosmoulis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Panos Gabriilidis in the 19th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Thanasis Souliopoulos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kostas Kosmoulis was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Kostas Lavdas hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. The Trikala F.C. fans' excitement grew in the 31st match minute when Trikala F.C.'s Thanasis Souliopoulos looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The audience thought a goal was coming when Themos Papatsakalos got free with Konstantinos Kosmatos in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 37 minutes into the game, Lefteris Pikilidis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Kostas Kosmoulis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Trikala F.C. fans' excitement grew in the 41st match minute when Trikala F.C.'s Thanasis Souliopoulos looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Kostas Kosmoulis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thanasis Souliopoulos's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. When the match clock showed 46 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Thanasis Souliopoulos sped through Aravissσs BC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Kostas Kosmoulis. The Aravissσs BC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Trikala F.C. were winning 0-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Iakovos Tsoumadas made a kick off. 55 minutes in the game, Lefteris Pikilidis fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Kostas Kosmoulis having to interfere. 57 minutes into the game, Thanasis Souliopoulos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Kostas Kosmoulis. Thanasis Souliopoulos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iakovos Tsoumadas in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Konstantinos Kosmatos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lefteris Pikilidis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With his leg Kostas Kosmoulis managed to avoid a goal in the 71stth minute, when Trikala F.C.'s Thanasis Souliopoulos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Aravissσs BC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Nasos Bezos hit a great ball. A hard shot 75 in the game by Thanasis Souliopoulos from a close distance when the talented Kostas Kosmoulis managed to make a qualified save. Aravissσs BC's players were relieved. In the 76th minute, Trikala F.C.'s Panos Gabriilidis dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-6. Konstantinos Kosmatos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Themos Papatsakalos in the 80th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 82 minutes, the score became 0-7 when Thanasis Souliopoulos sped through Aravissσs BC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Kostas Kosmoulis. If Iakovos Tsoumadas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 87 played minutes Trikala F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Theodosis Garpozis. Trikala F.C.'s Thanasis Souliopoulos got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 95 minutes, Panos Gabriilidis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trikala F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Panos Gabriilidis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 96 minutes into the game, Aimilios Tsigaridas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Aravissσs BC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Trikala F.C. the free kick. In the 96th minute, Aimilios Tsigaridas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanasis Souliopoulos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kostas Kosmoulis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play.
