A very good chance. A collision led to panetolikos getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Dimitris Strilakos hit a great ball. A hard shot 21 in the game by Thanasis Souliopoulos from a close distance when the talented Nikos Stavrou managed to make a qualified save. panetolikos's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thanasis Souliopoulos in the 24th minute of play forced panetolikos's goalkeeper Nikos Stavrou to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanasis Souliopoulos's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 27thth minute, Nikos Stavrou skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Trikala F.C.'s Konstantinos Kosmatos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Menios Papaggelatos in the 30th minute of play. Konstantinos Kosmatos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Panagiotis Kastanoulis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 37 minutes, Thanasis Souliopoulos made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. panetolikos's Nikos Stavrou tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thanasis Souliopoulos in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nikos Stavrou saved panetolikos from getting behind. Nikos Stavrou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thanasis Souliopoulos in the 44th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Thanasis Souliopoulos to make the kick off. The supporters of Trikala F.C. booed when panetolikos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tasos Skordas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 54th minute, Thanasis Souliopoulos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nikos Stavrou was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Menios Papaggelatos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Konstantinos Kosmatos came out and tried to block the shot, but Menios Papaggelatos slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thanasis Souliopoulos in the 63rd minute of play forced panetolikos's goalkeeper Nikos Stavrou to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 63 played minutes panetolikos got a freekick which was hit by Diogenis Tsagris. Thanasis Souliopoulos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanasis Souliopoulos might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nikos Stavrou. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thanasis Souliopoulos ran back to his position shaking his head. Nikos Stavrou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thanasis Souliopoulos in the 68th minute of play. After 71 played minutes, Trikala F.C.'s Veniamin Klotsidis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nikos Stavrou came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Trikala F.C. reached it. Nikos Stavrou stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thanasis Souliopoulos's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. In the 76th minute Trikala F.C. were awarded a corner. Alekos Koliopoulos went to the cornerflag to take it. Diogenis Tsagris kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Nikos Stavrou stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thanasis Souliopoulos's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. When Menios Papaggelatos fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored panetolikos's protests and gave Menios Papaggelatos a yellow card for diving instead. After 88 played minutes panetolikos got a freekick which was hit by Menios Papaggelatos. In the 90th match minute, panetolikos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tasos Skordas to maneuver through the defense. panetolikos's Nikos Stavrou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alekos Koliopoulos in the 91st minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Trikala F.C. fully deserved thier win.
