Marinos Stabouloglou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thanasis Souliopoulos in the 5th minute of play. Marinos Stabouloglou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thanasis Souliopoulos in the 7th minute of the match. In the 8th match minute, Xalkida was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christos Paschalis to maneuver through the defense. Panos Gabriilidis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Marinos Stabouloglou tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Theodosis Garpozis kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Stefanos Tsouknidas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 18thth minute, Konstantinos Kosmatos skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Thanasis Souliopoulos took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marinos Stabouloglou. Marinos Stabouloglou dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Marinos Stabouloglou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thanasis Souliopoulos in the 25th minute of the match. After 26 minutes, Iason Kapsis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Xalkida and the Trikala F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 26th minute, Iason Kapsis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 29 minutes, Thanasis Souliopoulos made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Xalkida's Marinos Stabouloglou tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vassilis Apostolidis in the 33rd minute of play forced Trikala F.C.'s goalkeeper Konstantinos Kosmatos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Panos Gabriilidis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vassilis Apostolidis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Konstantinos Kosmatos having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Thanasis Souliopoulos to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Xalkida was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vassilis Apostolidis to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Thanasis Souliopoulos got free with Marinos Stabouloglou in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Trikala F.C.'s Thanasis Souliopoulos in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Thanasis Souliopoulos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 63 played minutes, Trikala F.C.'s Veniamin Klotsidis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marinos Stabouloglou came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. In the 67th minute, Thanasis Souliopoulos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 70 minutes into the match, Xalkida's goalkeeper Marinos Stabouloglou had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thanasis Souliopoulos. In the 71st minute Vassilis Apostolidis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Konstantinos Kosmatos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xalkida's Marinos Stabouloglou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thanasis Souliopoulos in the 82nd minute of play. In the 84th minute, Thanasis Souliopoulos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Trikala F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Marinos Stabouloglou made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thanasis Souliopoulos in the 93rd minute. A hard shot 94 in the game by Thanasis Souliopoulos from a close distance when the talented Marinos Stabouloglou managed to make a qualified save. Xalkida's players were relieved. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Thanasis Souliopoulos in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marinos Stabouloglou prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the final whistle sounded Trikala F.C. left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Xalkida.
