In the 5th minute of the match Konstantinos Georgakos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marinos Stabouloglou showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Marinos Stabouloglou took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zisis Tourkogiorgis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Red Elikon Dragons's zone, Vassilis Apostolidis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kostas Giotoulis came out of the goal and Vassilis Apostolidis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vassilis Apostolidis in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kostas Giotoulis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Red Elikon Dragons's zone, Stefanos Tsouknidas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kostas Giotoulis came out of the goal and Stefanos Tsouknidas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anthimos Siradakis's late challenge caught a Xalkida's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anthimos Siradakis helped the player get up and apologised. Xalkida's Marinos Stabouloglou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zisis Tourkogiorgis in the 26th minute of play. If Zisis Tourkogiorgis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Xalkida's Marinos Stabouloglou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zisis Tourkogiorgis in the 30th minute of play. In the 34th minute, Vassilis Apostolidis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 40 minutes into the match, Red Elikon Dragons's goalkeeper Kostas Giotoulis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stefanos Tsouknidas. Stefanos Tsouknidas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Kostas Giotoulis made a huge save. Marinos Stabouloglou showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zisis Tourkogiorgis, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vassilis Apostolidis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Through an outstanding action, after 57 minutes, Marinos Stabouloglou successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Marinos Stabouloglou made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vaggelis Stamatellis in the 60th minute. Kostas Giotoulis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vassilis Apostolidis, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vaggelis Stamatellis got free with Marinos Stabouloglou in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Red Elikon Dragons defense, Stefanos Tsouknidas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kostas Giotoulis. The Red Elikon Dragons fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kostas Giotoulis should have stopped the shot. Stefanos Tsouknidas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
