Fotis Kaklamanakis made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Alexandros Dentsas sent off a good shot on target. In the 22nd minute Giannis Antoniadis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anestis Tsionas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Stars's Fanis Violaris sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Anestis Tsionas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fotis Kaklamanakis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thanos Lazanas in the 31st minute of the match. PANATHINAIKOS FC's Thanos Lazanas got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Anestis Tsionas came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Stars's Fanis Violaris. But to his dismay, Fanis Violaris quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1.

The wind increased when Thanos Lazanas made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Makis Koutsis during the 51st minute. Fotis Kaklamanakis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thanos Lazanas, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. A hard shot 95 in the game by Giannis Antoniadis from a close distance when the talented Anestis Tsionas managed to make a qualified save. PANATHINAIKOS FC's players were relieved. Giannis Antoniadis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anestis Tsionas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play.
