Thanasis Stiliaras's late challenge caught a OLYMPIAKOS SYROY F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thanasis Stiliaras helped the player get up and apologised. After 40 played minutes Αkova got a freekick which was hit by Thanasis Stiliaras. Thanks to some nice moves Vaggelis Touboulis could shoot a difficult shot in the 42nd minute, which Apostolis Fragakos however easily saved by the left post. Antonis Pnevmatikatos was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 47th minute. Αkova's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eutichios Lemonis to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, Antonis Pnevmatikatos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Apostolis Fragakos was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Apostolis Fragakos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vaggelis Touboulis went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Apostolis Fragakos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonis Pnevmatikatos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Apostolis Fragakos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Antonis Pnevmatikatos's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Thanasis Stiliaras got his second yellow card in the match during the 72nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 73rd match minute, Αkova was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thanasis Stiliaras to maneuver through the defense. Giannis Kakaroglou sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of OLYMPIAKOS SYROY F.C booed when Αkova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fotis Giotoulis didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Αkova had won after a very even match.
