After 23 played minutes Kokkinitsa got a freekick which was hit by Timos Seremeglis. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Savas Veggos during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Savas Veggos hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Kostas Loukidis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iason Tsartsalis in the 28th minute of play. Dimitris Karalis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kostas Loukidis having to make a save. The supporters of Kokkinitsa booed when PAOK NEAPOLI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Spyros Tachtsidis didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 37 minutes, Dimitris Karalis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kokkinitsa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dimitris Karalis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Timos Seremeglis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the match, Kokkinitsa's goal looked a bit too open when Vlassis Charoulis came free, but Kostas Giotos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Themis Karabogias's late challenge caught a PAOK NEAPOLI's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Themis Karabogias helped the player get up and apologised. Themis Karabogias kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Savas Veggos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Kostas Giotos made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Kokkinitsa's Timos Seremeglis got a free kick in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Vlassis Charoulis made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd play minute Dimitris Karalis came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Kostas Loukidis. 1-1. In the 59th minute, Iason Tsartsalis reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Kostas Loukidis. The goal made the score 1-2. With his leg Kostas Loukidis managed to avoid a goal in the 63rdth minute, when Kokkinitsa's Dimitris Karalis fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Iason Tsartsalis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Kostas Loukidis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70th minute Savas Veggos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kostas Giotos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Savas Veggos put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Kostas Giotos. Dimitris Karalis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The match ended with a win for Kokkinitsa.
