In the 41st minute Stefanos Zinantidis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paschalis Ballas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Panos Gabriilidis's late challenge caught a DANAOS AE's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Panos Gabriilidis helped the player get up and apologised. Lazaros Ntokas went to the wrong direction when Valerios Chatzifotis was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. 66 minutes into the game, Stefanos Ntaloukas lined in a short shot 2-4 behind a frustrated Paschalis Ballas. When Petros Karagiannidis fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored DANAOS AE's protests and gave Petros Karagiannidis a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to DANAOS AE getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Petros Karagiannidis hit a great ball. 70 minutes into the game, Giannis Vlachos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. University of Pennsylvani's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave DANAOS AE the free kick. In the 70th match minute, University of Pennsylvani was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giannis Vlachos to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Michalis Zelelidis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lazaros Ntokas was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Paschalis Ballas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stefanos Ntaloukas, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Lazaros Ntokas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
