PAGOTENIOI's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Iraklis the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 9th minute of the game. One of PAGOTENIOI:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Iraklis:s goal. After 13 played minutes Iraklis got a freekick which was hit by Miltiadis Kirmizas. When Sotiris Dellios came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Iraklis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sotiris Dellios couldn't finish the play. If Eutichios Prezerakos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 34 minutes, Minas Mallous managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Iraklis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Minas Mallous was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Loukas Gogolos hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the PAGOTENIOI defense, Sotiris Dellios kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ermis Zanias. The PAGOTENIOI fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ermis Zanias should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lefteris Lagos was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Iraklis's Fokas Leontaras got a free kick in the 53rd minute. 57 minutes into the match, Lefteris Lagos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paraskevas Tsatsos. Iraklis's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lefteris Lagos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Sotiris Dellios in the 65thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. With his leg Ermis Zanias managed to avoid a goal in the 77thth minute, when Iraklis's Sotiris Dellios fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Iraklis's Paraskevas Tsatsos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Savas Skiadas in the 80th minute of play. After 84 minutes, Lefteris Lagos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PAGOTENIOI and the Iraklis players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 84th minute, Lefteris Lagos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to PAGOTENIOI getting a freekick after 85 minutes play.
