With 3 minutes on the clock, Themis Giannakakos commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 3 minutes into the game, one of University of Pennsylvani:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. An unexpected shot in the 8th minute by Stefanos Zinantidis got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Lazaros Ntokas came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Pakhtouri's Lambros Belevonis. But to his dismay, Lambros Belevonis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Lambros Belevonis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lazaros Ntokas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Pakhtouri's goalkeeper Stathis Routseas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stefanos Zinantidis. Themistoklis Katramados kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Stefanos Zinantidis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Lambros Belevonis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lefteris Tsilikas hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Lazaros Ntokas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Louis Saleas in the 33rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Pakhtouri's Lambros Asimos got a free kick in the 43rd minute. In the 48th minute of the match Vladimiros Karoubalis shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lazaros Ntokas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stefanos Zinantidis to make the kick off. The supporters of University of Pennsylvani booed when Pakhtouri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emmanouil Gavrilidis didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Pakhtouri's zone, Stefanos Zinantidis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stathis Routseas came out of the goal and Stefanos Zinantidis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alketas Rapanos during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
