In the 9th minute, Nikos Alexiou hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 16 minutes into the match, Pirgoto FC's goal looked a bit too open when Themis Koulakidis came free, but Fondas Athanasiadis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Themis Koulakidis's late challenge caught a Pirgoto FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Themis Koulakidis helped the player get up and apologised. Nikos Alexiou charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nikos Alexiou the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Giannis Boulougouris received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Stathis Ipsilantis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manolis Vasilopoulos in the 42nd minute of play forced Lapokhσri's goalkeeper Stathis Ipsilantis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Lapokhσri booed when Pirgoto FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Akis Koutsovassilis didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 48 minutes, Zinon Pentaras managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lapokhσri's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zinon Pentaras was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Themis Koulakidis made a kick off. Pirgoto FC's Fondas Athanasiadis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zinon Pentaras in the 55th minute of play. After some careless play in the Pirgoto FC defense, Zinon Pentaras kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fondas Athanasiadis. The Pirgoto FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fondas Athanasiadis should have stopped the shot. Stathis Ipsilantis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manolis Vasilopoulos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 67th minute of the game. One of Pirgoto FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lapokhσri:s goal. Pavlos Balodimos shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After a rather tough play, Lapokhσri's Paraskevas Rovolis got a free kick in the 70th minute. Fondas Athanasiadis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Themis Koulakidis in the 77th minute of play. In the 77th match minute, Pirgoto FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lambis Vardinogiannis to maneuver through the defense. Zinon Pentaras received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Fondas Athanasiadis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 90 minutes into the match, Manolis Vasilopoulos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stathis Ipsilantis. Lapokhσri's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Manolis Vasilopoulos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Stathis Ipsilantis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Babbis Kyrgiakos, who was totally free with the ball in the 99th minute. Pirgoto FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
