The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of AN.ARTAS booed when ΜΙΜΗΣ Π.Α. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alekos Valsaris didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stelios Kalantas's late challenge caught a AN.ARTAS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stelios Kalantas helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of AN.ARTAS booed when ΜΙΜΗΣ Π.Α. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stelios Kalantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fanis Koutsoulis during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alekos Koutsokefalakis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dimitris Christou fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kostas Pelidis having to interfere. If Dimitris Christou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Apostolos Roditis kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind ΜΙΜΗΣ Π.Α.'s goalkeeper Kostas Pelidis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Nikos Lazanas fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AN.ARTAS's protests and gave Nikos Lazanas a yellow card for diving instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

55 minutes into the match, Dimitris Christou dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Kostas Pelidis, 0-1. With 59 minutes on the clock, Leonidas Karachristou commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The goalkeeper, Kostas Pelidis, was totally fooled by AN.ARTAS's Pantelis Tsekouras, who 61 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Sotiris Borbokis charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Kostas Pelidis came out of the goal and Alekos Koutsokefalakis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Alekos Koutsokefalakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alekos Koutsokefalakis got free with Kostas Pelidis in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Stelios Kalantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vrasidas Kastigios having to interfere. In the 83rd match minute, AN.ARTAS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michalis Kastanakoglou to maneuver through the defense. Alkaios Moisidis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alekos Koutsokefalakis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. AN.ARTAS's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
