The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Theofilos Daniilopoulos the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The supporters of Chelsea booed when AN.ARTAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sotiris Borbokis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vrasidas Kastigios showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giorgos Iliadis, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. In the 23rd minute Evripidis Charatos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vrasidas Kastigios saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, AN.ARTAS's goal looked a bit too open when Giorgos Iliadis came free, but Vrasidas Kastigios reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Sotiris Borbokis was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 25 minutes had been played. Sotiris Borbokis hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. After 26 played minutes, Chelsea's Antonis Mytilineos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Vrasidas Kastigios came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Chelsea reached it. Chelsea's Gerasimos Triantafyllou proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Chelsea from getting a goal against them. If Evripidis Charatos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Giorgos Iliadis struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Vrasidas Kastigios didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chelsea. Chelsea's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giorgos Iliadis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Alekos Koutsokefalakis made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Chelsea's zone, Alekos Koutsokefalakis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giorgos Iliadis might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vrasidas Kastigios. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Giorgos Iliadis ran back to his position shaking his head. Alekos Koutsokefalakis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
