In the 19th minute Grigoris Kaliakoudis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sakis Kalabalikis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 27 played minutes Arvanitaνika FC got a freekick which was hit by Alekos Zabetas. After a defensive mix-up in Arvanitaνika FC's zone, Thrasivoulos Vezirgiannidis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ilias Tsakiris came out of the goal and Thrasivoulos Vezirgiannidis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Genésio BC's Sakis Kalabalikis got control of the ball when Charis Manolas tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Giorgos Nikolaidis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute, Grigoris Kaliakoudis fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Sakis Kalabalikis, passed just outside the right post. Giorgos Nikolaidis's late challenge caught a Arvanitaνika FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Giorgos Nikolaidis helped the player get up and apologised. After 39 played minutes Genésio BC got a freekick which was hit by Giorgos Nikolaidis. Charis Manolas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Sakis Kalabalikis made a huge save. Sakis Kalabalikis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Charis Manolas in the 44th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
